College loans can not be justified unless you are pursueing a degree that will immediately turn around and make you a salary. If you are pursuing a willy-nilly science degree like I did it is pretty important to be commited to going on to pursue the masters degree that will lead to a paying job.
As it is I did neither and after graduating with a science degree in a feild that either employes thoses with masters or volunteers I would chalk it up as one of the biggest errors of my life. Had I had a masters degree I would have doubled my income potential and made the enormous $250 monthly payment bearable. As it is I have never been able to purchase a decent newsed car let alone a new one.
